Our activities at Woodlands Park
At our children's centre, you'll find a variety of services and groups that cater to different developmental stages and interests. They are for parents and children under 5 (unless stated otherwise). All our groups is free to attend and run all year round, including during school holidays.

Stay & Plays Groups(0 – 5 years old)
Stay & Plays Groups
Stay & Plays are for children 0-5 years and their families. Sessions take place at Woodlands Park all year round.
An opportunity for you and your child to play together, make new friends, speak to staff and access other services e.g. behaviour support, play and learning, speech and language, nursery support, housing etc.
To enable all of our families to access our groups, each family can attend two groups per week due to limited spaces.
We have a drop-in morning session from 9:20am to 11:20am every Wednesday and a drop-in afternoon session from 1:00-3:00pm every Wednesday.

Little Footprints Play Group(0 – 18 months old)
Little Footprints Play Group
Little Footprints are for children 0-18 months old and their families. Sessions take place at Woodlands Park all year round.
An opportunity for you and your child to play together, make new friends, speak to staff and access other services e.g. weaning, breast feeding, supporting your child’s sleeping, etc.
We have a drop-in morning session from 10:00am to 11:30am every Thursday.

Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding Support
We provide information and support around breastfeeding for mothers. Sessions are led by trained and experienced breastfeeding support volunteers, every Thursdays between 10.00am to 12.00pm.
This is a drop-in session and you are welcome to come along anytime between these hours.

Baby Weighing Clinic
Baby Weighing Clinic
Baby Weighing Clinic takes place every Tuesday via the health visiting team.
Please contact the health visitors on 0208 224 4200 or 0208 224 4207 to book an appointment, please remember to bring your red book.
You will only be seen if you have an appointment.

Kitchen Club(0 – 5 years old)
Kitchen Club
Kitchen Club is a place for you and your children (0 - 5 years) to learn new recipes, take part in cooking sessions and then join in the community lunch.

Health Visitor Team(1 & 2 year old checks)
Health Visitor Team
Health Visitor Team 1 & 2 year old checks are invite-only appointments where families join the Community Nursery Nurse from the Health Visiting Team to discuss their child’s developmental progress.

Childcare Level 1 & 2For Parents
Childcare Level 1 & 2
Childcare Level 1 & 2 delivered at Woodlands Park Nursery and Children's Centre by Barnet and Southgate College.
Childcare courses runs twice in an academic year. Please see reception to book your place (no creche provided).

New Parents Group
New Parents Group
New Parents Group is for first time parents of children under 6 months old offering a range of information and support such as: sleeping, routines, feeding, play, intro to solids and well being etc.
You can drop in, any time between 1:30pm to 2:30pm every Tuesday.

Introduction to Solids and Health EatingWorkshop for parents
Introduction to Solids and Health Eating
Introduction to Solids sessions with the Health Visiting team provide support, advice and guidance on introducing your baby on to solid foods. These sessions take place on a termly basis.

Free for 2's SupportWorkshop for parents
Free for 2's Support
How does Free for 2s work?
With Free for 2s, your child’s place of 15 hours per week will be completely free of charge to you. You can find out more by attending this workshop.
You can also find out about how to apply to nurseries and information on your local nurseries too.

Parents & Volunteers Forum
We offer parents/carers and users the opportunity to volunteer within our setting in various roles.
We are committed to working closely with Parents, Carers and Volunteers to ensure quality of service.
The Parents & Volunteers Forum is a platform for Parents, Carers and Volunteers to share their views, ask questions and give feedback about initiatives, services and provisions. If you are interested in being part of our forum please contact the Centre for more details.
In order to volunteer at the nursery/centre you will be required to attend our 6 week (one day per week) Training Programme. The topics covered are as follows:
