Funding Available
We accept a range of government-funded childcare options designed to support families with children from 9 months to 4 years old.
Universal 15 Hours for 3 and 4 Year Olds
All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free early education per week for 38 weeks of the year (term-time only). This begins the term after your child’s 3rd birthday and is available to all families, regardless of income.
Extended 30 Hours for 3 and 4 Year Olds
Eligible working families can access an additional 15 hours of funded childcare, totaling 30 hours per week. You must apply through the Childcare Choices website and reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months.
15 Hours for 2-Year-Olds (Families on benefits)
Some 2-year-olds are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare per week if families meet certain criteria, including receiving specific government benefits or if the child has special educational needs. You must apply through the Haringey website and provide your eligibility letter when applying to your chosen childcare provider.
15 Hours for Working Families – Starting from April 2024 & September 2025
The government is expanding support for working parents of younger children:
-
From April 2024: Working parents of 2-year-olds can access 15 hours of free childcare per week.
-
From September 2024: This will be extended to working parents of children aged 9 months and over.
-
From September 2025: Eligible working parents of children from 9 months to school age will be entitled to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
To qualify, both parents (or the sole parent in a single-parent household) must be working and earning at least the minimum wage for 16 hours per week, but less than £100,000 per year each.
Tax-Free Childcare
Families can open a Tax-Free Childcare account to receive up to £2,000 per year per child (or £4,000 for a child with a disability). For every £8 you pay in, the government adds £2. This can be used to pay nursery fees, including any additional hours not covered by funding.
